MOTS-c guidebook

MOTS-c guidebook

Make the cost clear before the commitment.

Start with what the payment covers. A small headline price is hard to compare with a complete care estimate.

There is no approved MOTS-c price to quote

The September 30, 2026 check found no approved US MOTS-c product, leaving no official drug-maker or government price to report.

  • Treat an offer as something to question, rather than a standard treatment price.
  • Ask what product and care the quote describes.
  • Ask for the full estimate in writing before agreeing to payment.

Compare what the payment buys

Keep these parts separate on the estimate. Then compare offers that cover the same things.

A visit fee

Ask whether the price covers the first assessment with a health professional, called a clinician, a later visit, or both.

  • Is a later discussion included?
  • Is payment due if the clinician does not recommend the requested product?

A membership

Ask what keeps being charged and what the membership includes.

  • What is the recurring charge?
  • Are medicine and tests separate?
  • How do I stop the membership, and when does that take effect?

Tests and other charges

Ask for the test names and the reason for each before comparing the total.

  • Who orders the tests, and who explains the results?
  • Are tests, delivery, and follow-up listed separately?
  • Which charges are optional, and which are required?

Questions for an insurer or plan

A service’s statement about coverage is a starting point for a question to your own plan.

  • Does the plan cover this assessment with this clinician?
  • How are the proposed tests billed?
  • Is the quoted amount my payment or the amount billed to the plan?
  • What records does the plan need before it can answer?

Read the terms before committing

Make the agreement easy to explain in your own words. If the terms remain unclear, ask for a clearer estimate.

  • What starts a recurring charge?
  • What happens if care changes after the assessment?
  • What is refundable, and under what conditions?
  • What is the cancellation process?
